Updates and what's new

ImtehanHub keeps itself current in three ways: the Android app can update its content over the air, an in-app "What's new" dialog tells you what changed after an update, and a public changelog lists every release. This page covers all three.

TL;DR — On Android, content updates download in the background and the app asks before applying (it restarts once you agree). After any update, a "What's new" dialog summarises the changes. You can read the full history any time at imtehanhub.aoneahsan.com/changelog.

Over-the-air content updates (Android)​

The Android app can refresh its content — the screens, wording, and fixes that make up the app you interact with — without a full download from the store. When you launch the app, it checks whether a newer content bundle is available.

If one is:

  1. The app shows an "Update available" prompt with the new version and a short note on what changed.
  2. You choose whether to apply it. Nothing changes until you agree.
  3. When you accept, the app downloads the update, verifies it, and restarts once to apply it.

If you decline, the app keeps working as-is and offers again on a later launch. You are never forced mid-session, and an update never interrupts a test you are taking.

What over-the-air updates do and don't cover​

  • ✅ Content and web-layer updates — new copy, screen improvements, and fixes ship this way, so you get them fast without visiting the store.
  • ❌ Deeper changes — new Android permissions or native features still arrive as a normal full app update from Google Play (automatic) or a fresh APK for sideloaded installs. See Installing the Android app → Updating the app.

Over-the-air updates are Android-only. On the web there is nothing to update — you always load the latest version when you open the site.

The "What's new" dialog​

After the app updates to a new version — on web and Android — a short "What's new" dialog appears the first time you open that version. It lists the notable changes in that release in plain language, so you know what improved without hunting for it.

The dialog shows once per new version and then gets out of your way. If you dismiss it, nothing is lost — the same information lives in the changelog.

The public changelog​

Every release is recorded on the public changelog:

It lists each version with the date and what changed — features, improvements, and fixes. The in-app "What's new" dialog and this page draw from the same release notes, so they never disagree.

Common questions​

Will an update interrupt my test?​

No. An over-the-air update is offered at launch, not mid-test, and it never applies without your say-so. Take your test, then apply the update afterwards.

Do I have to accept an update?​

For ordinary updates, no — decline and the app keeps working; it will offer again later. A rare critical fix may apply on its own to keep the app working, but that is the exception, not the norm.

Does an over-the-air update cost mobile data?​

A content update is small compared with a full app reinstall from the store. On a metered connection you can decline and apply it later on Wi-Fi.
